During the 2019 Asia Tour, a group of Cleveland Orchestra trustees and donors joined our travels in Shanghai and Beijing.
We are grateful for their support, and it was wonderful to have them with us to enjoy their Orchestra in two different concert halls for the extremely enthusiastic Chinese audience and fans.
The group is pictured below backstage at Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts.
Beijing, Left to Right: Trustee Paul Westlake, Suzanne Westlake, Advisory Council Member Astri Seidenfeld, Rick Brauschard, Music Director Franz Welser-Möst, Barbara Wolfort, Ben Pyne, Trustee David Wolfort, and President & CEO André Gremillet.
For those who missed it, they will be available here.
Also, violists Richard Waugh and Mark Jackobs recreated a pose from our last performance in Beijing which was at the Great Hall of the People, across the street from the NCPA.
But it’s effectively been a one-party dictatorship.
The party brings a zero-sum game mindset to politics: it must always prevail, and its opponents must be crushed rather than accommodated.
We sprung into action with @UNmigration & @H2Hnet to research the best communication methods & create this glossary to help communication.
For the fourth and final tour diary entry, we have another video, a selection of media coverage and more photos to share from the final stops of our 2019 Asia Tour in Wuhan and at the prestigious National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing.
